Day 1Arrival in Murchison Falls NP - Nyamsika Camp Arrival in Murchison Falls NP - Nyamsika Camp First day you arrive at Nyamsika Campsite afternoon / early evening, welcomed with freshly made juice, followed by a briefing about the campsite, security and itinerary. Optional: Short walk in the vicinity (1-2 hours), followed by a sundowner at Nyamsika Viewpoint with superb views. Professional staff presence for all your needs throughout your stay. Our exclusive mobile camp offers spacious tents with full-size mattresses. Amenities include gazebos, dining areas, hammocks, a mini library, and a bush bar. We provide toilets, showers, and wash basins, with a dedicated team to meet guest needs. Walking Safari and Game Drive - Nyamsika Camp
Day 2Walking Safari and Game Drive - Nyamsika Camp Walking Safari and Game Drive - Nyamsika Camp Early breakfast at 6:30 am. Morning walk toward Te Okot (3-3.5 hours). Terrain is quite open and slightly hillier with some gullies and some Borassus Palms. Good chance to see some groups of elephants, and variety of antelopes, including signs / footprints of predators. Early lunch around 12 pm, followed by siesta to relax and soak in the wilderness. Afternoon game drive or another shorter walk at 4-5 pm, followed by a sundowner at Nyamsika Viewpoint with superb views. Walking Safari, Boat Ride & visit to the Murchison Falls - Nyamsika Camp
Day 3Walking Safari, Boat Ride & visit to the Murchison Falls - Nyamsika Camp Walking Safari, Boat Ride & visit to the Murchison Falls - Nyamsika Camp Option 1. Morning transfer for the boat ride combined with visit to the Murchison Falls. The first part of the trip is the boat ride (1.5-2 hrs) in the River Nile, observing hippos, crocodiles, plentiful birdlife; and other wildlife along the shore. The boat ride ends at the bottom of the falls, where we begin a short 45 hike to the Top of the Falls with spectacular views of both Murchison and Uhuru Falls. Return to camp around 1-2 pm for lunch, followed by rest. Afternoon shorter walk (2 hrs) around Nyamsika in the dry riverbed. Option 2. Alternative is a longer morning walk to the River Nile (4-5 hrs). Sandals are recommended for some wading through shallow warm water. This riverbed is frequented by variety of wildlife from buffaloes, kobs, hartebeest, elephants, and an occasional hyena. Lots of footprints to observe. The boat will wait for us at the end of the walk to continue to the bottom of the Falls. Packed lunch on the boat. Return to the camp late afternoon to rest. Day 4Morning walk, Bush breakfast and Departure Morning walk, Bush breakfast and Departure Morning spectacular walk around Nyamsika riverbed (1.5-2 hrs) upstream depending on the itinerary. Excellent opportunity again to observe wildlife near the semi-dry riverbed and look for predator footprints (leopard, hyena, lion). Black colobus monkeys and baboons are also home along this river. Bush breakfast at a viewpoint and transfer of guests to the airstrip or other destination.
