Itinerary
Moshi to Tarangire National Park
Day 1Moshi to Tarangire National Park Moshi to Tarangire National Park After an early morning breakfast, you'll get into a new 4x4 Land Cruiser safari vehicle with a packed lunch. You will drive for 3 hours to Tarangire National Park. Tarangire National Park has the highest population of elephants in Tanzania, comprising herds of up to 300 elephants who scratch the dry riverbed for underground streams. Expect to see wildebeests, zebras, buffalos, impalas, gazelles, hartebeest, and eland. It is the greatest concentration of wildlife outside the Serengeti ecosystem. It is a buffet for predators and the one place in Tanzania where dry-country antelope such as the stately fringe-eared oryx and peculiar long-necked gerenuk are regularly observed. Late evening, you will be transferred to your booked campsite for dinner, a shower, and an overnight stay. Ngorongoro Crater to Moshi
Day 2Ngorongoro Crater to Moshi Ngorongoro Crater to Moshi After early breakfast, you will descend over 600 meters into the crater to view wildlife for a half-day safari tour. Supported by a year-round water supply and fodder, the Ngorongoro Crater supports a wide variety of animals, which include herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and giant African elephants. Another big draw card to this picturesque national park is its dense population of predators, which include lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and the ever-elusive leopard, which sometimes requires a trained eye to spot. You will visit Lake Magadi, a large but shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern corner, which is one of the main features of the crater. A large number of flamingos, hippos, and other water birds can usually be seen here. After lunch, you will start ascending from the crater and return to Moshi or Kilimanjaro Airport, JRO.
