The area is covered by black tea plantations and various crater lakes, which make the drive thrilling as you go closer to the foot of the Mountain of the Moon (Mountain Rwenzori). You'll check in at the lodge and go for the crater lakes exploration with a walk to the top of the world. If you are lucky, you might see different species of Monkeys, such as red colobus, red tailed monkey and bush babies. More in the forest canopy are colored avian creatures, butterflies, various bird species like the native Great Blue Turaco, joyful greenbul, olive long-tailed cuckoo, and the superb black bee-eater. You'll retire to your day at the lodge. Have an early breakfast before setting off for your gorilla trekking adventure with a specialized guide. Besides the gorillas, this Impenetrable Forest is full of birds, butterflies, and plant species, plus forest hog, forest elephants, statungas, and duikers. You'll enjoy the walk through the forest and spend one hour around the gorillas. After the gorilla trek, your guide picks you up. Depending on the time you are back from trekking, you drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The aim is to spend the night at the edge of Queen Elizabeth National Park, with an exciting drive there with a chance of seeing baboons and other monkeys along the way, as well as the chance of spotting elephants from the lodge. You'll retire your day here at the lodge. You can take part in plucking the tea leaves, which makes the experience more fascinating. Then transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Option to drive further southwards with the Rwenzori ranges (Longest in Africa) in view, or drive through the Crater lakes in the Hills, to sample out the surprising diversity of Savannah trees and wildlife! In the late evening, we shall take a boat cruise along the famous Kazinga channel that links Lake Edward and George. You'll transfer on to Bwindi mountain gorillas through a beautiful drive taking you from the savannah via cultivated hills to the jungle-covered mountains of Bwindi.
