Day 1Antananarivo Antananarivo We are excited to welcome you to Madagascar! Your guide will meet you upon arrival at the airport. After completing the immigration formalities and exchanging your currency, we will head to the center of the city for your overnight stay at the Tripolitsa Hotel or similar. Antananarivo - Andasibe-Mantadia National Park
Day 2Antananarivo - Andasibe-Mantadia National Park Antananarivo - Andasibe-Mantadia National Park After breakfast we will head to Andasibe. Along the way we will visit a reptile park, where you can see many different species of chameleons, geckos, snakes, crocodiles, frogs, one of the largest butterflies in Madagascar, and two different species of lemurs. Our visit will last about two hours. Once we are finished, we will drive to our lunch destination and then continue to Andasibe. Upon arrival in Andasibe we will check in at the Lemurs Lodge Hotel (or similar) and get ready for a night walk to see active lemurs, frogs, and chameleons. Andasibe-Mantadia National Park
Day 3Andasibe-Mantadia National Park Andasibe-Mantadia National Park Enjoy a full day on a wildlife safari in Andasibe-Mantadia National Park. The dense, humid forest here is covered with leans, moss, ferns, and more than a hundred orchid species. You will also spot many kinds of lemurs, including the indri-indri (the largest lemur species), diademed sifaka, common brown lemur, bamboo lemur, and sportive lemur. Common plants that grow in this park include pandanus, ravinala palm, tambourissa, bamboo, and some precious woods like palissandre and ebony. The extraordinary animal diversity here is complimented with another 15 mammal species and more than 100 birds (many of them endemic, like the Madagascar yellow brow). Your overnight stay will be at the Andasibe Lemurs Lodge Hotel or similar. Day 4Andasibe - Antsirabe Andasibe - Antsirabe After breakfast we’ll start driving south towards Antsirabe. On the way we will stop at the Ambatolampy pot factory to discover how they make the pots from recycled aluminum. After the visit we will continue towards Antsirabe. Upon arrival we will check in at the Vatolahy Hotel (or similar) for relaxation and your overnight stay. Day 5Antsirabe - Miandrivazo Antsirabe - Miandrivazo After breakfast at the hotel, you’ll begin your morning drive to Miandrivazo. Along the way you’ll enjoy the amazing landscape and scenery. You’ll see zebus, rice fields, vegetable plantations, and different kinds of traditional houses. Your overnight stay will be at the Soalia Hotel or similar. Miandrivazo - Tsiribihina
Day 6Miandrivazo - Tsiribihina Miandrivazo - Tsiribihina After breakfast we will climb into our 4x4 and journey southwest to the marvelous Tsiribihina River for a tour. We’ll spend the whole day on safari in a canoe to admire the beauty of the river, which is teaming with birds. You’ll also see local villagers canoeing to their rice fields. We’ll take a nice bath at the nosy nampela waters before we head to the camp. You will also see some lemurs. Day 7Tsiribihina Tsiribihina After an early breakfast we will continue our trip. Today will also be spent on the river. It will get more and more exciting along the way as there will be baobabs, parrots, crocodiles, and a variety of other bird species. You may also see some fisherman and local villagers. Tsiribihina - Allee Des Baobabs
Day 8Tsiribihina - Allee Des Baobabs Tsiribihina - Allee Des Baobabs After breakfast at the campsite, we’ll sail again for a short time before transferring to our vehicle and driving towards Morondava. We’ll pass through great scenery along the way and make a special stop at baobab alley to admire the giant trees. After sunset we’ll continue to Morondava, where dinner and your overnight stay will be at the Select hotel or similar. Day 9Morondava - Antsirabe Morondava - Antsirabe After an early morning breakfast, we will prepare to drive back towards Antsirabe. This drive will be a long one, but we’ll be crossing many beautiful landscapes and have plenty of opportunities for photographs along the way. When we reach Miandrivazo we will eat lunch before continuing on to Antsirabe, where your overnight stay will be at the Vatolahy Hotel or similar. Day 10Antsirabe - Ranomafana Antsirabe - Ranomafana After breakfast in the hotel, we will start driving to Ranomafana National Park, which is home to many species of lemurs and reptiles. Upon arrival in Ranomafana, we will check in at the Centrest Hotel (or similar) and then get ready for a night walk to see active lemurs, frogs, and chameleons. Day 11Ranomafana National Park Ranomafana National Park Today you’ll spend the full day exploring the amazing rain forest in Ranomafana National Park—which is one of the largest in Madagascar. You’ll see several species of lemur, birds, a variety of plants, and beautiful waterfalls. In the afternoon you can decide to spend your time swimming at the natural spring or visit a botanical garden to see some chameleons and a nice garden. Your overnight stay will be at the Centrest Hotel or similar.
