This morning, you’ll head to Tarangire National Park, a scenic two-and-a-half-hour drive along well-paved roads. Named after the life-giving Tarangire River, the park is a sanctuary during the Dry season and renowned for its massive herds of elephants. Along the riverbanks, you may also spot giraffes, bushbucks, hartebeests, and, if lucky, predators like lions and leopards. Tarangire also boasts one of the world’s highest concentrations of bird species, making it a paradise for bird enthusiasts. Scattered throughout the park are ancient baobab trees, many of which are estimated to be over a thousand years old.
