The park’s unique feature is the swamps, which provide water year-round, making it a prime habitat for elephants and various wildlife. The early morning game drive will offer spectacular views of the elephants as they bathe in the swamps or graze. Keep an eye out for other wildlife, including lions, cheetahs, hippos, and wildebeest. You'll enjoy a picnic lunch in the park and then continue the afternoon game drive, focusing on areas that are rich in wildlife. Tarangire National Park
Day 4Tarangire National Park Tarangire National Park You'll travel to Tarangire National Park, known for its massive elephant herds and iconic baobab trees. After an early breakfast, you will leave Arusha and head towards Tarangire National Park, a lesser-known but spectacular wildlife haven. The drive takes about two hours, passing through rolling hills and Maasai villages, where you might catch a glimpse of traditional Maasai herders with their cattle. Upon entering the park, you will be greeted by its stunning landscape, dominated by towering baobab trees, which stand like ancient sentinels over the golden savanna. Tarangire is famous for its large elephant population, often seen in family herds cooling off at the Tarangire River, which serves as the park’s lifeline, especially in the dry season. Ngorongoro Crater
Day 5Ngorongoro Crater Ngorongoro Crater Today is dedicated to exploring Ngorongoro Crater, one of the most concentrated wildlife areas on Earth. After a delicious breakfast, you’ll descend the steep crater walls into the lush crater floor, where an ecosystem exists that supports nearly every species of African wildlife. As you travel across the floor of this extinct volcano, you’ll be able to observe a variety of animals. Lions rest in the tall grass while elephants roam the forests. The crater is also home to a small population of black rhinos, which are rarely seen in other areas of Tanzania. Ngorongoro is an excellent place for birdwatching, too. You’ll likely see flamingos, pelicans, and Egyptian geese near the Ngorongoro Crater Lake, as well as raptors like eagles and vultures soaring overhead. Later, after lunch, you will exit Ngorongoro Crater. You will be heading to Serengeti National Park for an overnight stay.
