Day 2Transfer Entebbe to Kibale Forest National Park - Visit the top of the world Transfer Entebbe to Kibale Forest National Park - Visit the top of the world After breakfast you will set off to Western Uganda, in Fort Portal. This lively town is the base for activities around Kibale Forest National Park. The national park offers one of the most varied tracts of tropical forest in Uganda, 70 mammal species and 13 primate species. The drive takes 5 to 7 hours so we will arrive in time in Fort Portal for lunch. After which we will shake off the long drive with a walk to the “top of the world” along crater lakes which this area is also famous for. We retire our long day at the chilly Isunga Lodge overlooking the Kibale rain forest. Chimpanzee Trekking Kibale Forest National Park & Bigodi Community Experience
Day 3Chimpanzee Trekking Kibale Forest National Park & Bigodi Community Experience Chimpanzee Trekking Kibale Forest National Park & Bigodi Community Experience Proceed to the Kanyanchu visitors Centre at 07.00 am to meet with the Chimpanzee trekking team where you will conduct a briefing regarding the dos and donts once in the forest and when you meet the chimpanzees. This activity is a unique opportunity to participate in the trekking or habituation of chimpanzee within the Kibale Forest National Park. There is provision for you to participate from dawn to dusk where you can call 'time' on the day such that it can be quite challenging physically but at the same time there are long pauses in the experience that will see you relaxing and observing in close proximity to the chimps as they too relax in the middle of the day. In the evening, transfer to the Bigodi Wetlands, visit the community based Bigodi Sanctaury great for Primate viewing and also birding haven. Retire the long day at the lodge as you reflect on what transpired during the trek. Day 4Queen Elizabeth National Park - Evening game drive Queen Elizabeth National Park - Evening game drive After Breakfast and transfer towards Queen Elizabeth National Park. It is the most popular park in Uganda as it offers diverse ecosystems, classic big game, 10 primate species and over 600 bird species. You will drive leisurely southwards with a stopover along the Equaor line. Proceed to the lodge for check in and enjoy a hot lunch overlooking the majestic Queen Elizabeth National park. Enjoy and evening game drive and later retire the day at the lodge. We then drive further south to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park which is of Uganda´s oldest and most diverse rainforests. The “impenetrable” forest is also home to more than 320 mountain gorillas, 400 species of plants, 120 species of mammals and over 350 species of birds. Relax at the lodge with great views of the impenetrable forest of Bwindi. With your packed lunch, you wil thenl start walking and hiking in the impenetrable forest until you find the gorillas. For one hour you are allowed to watch those majestic giants! After the trek, we target to chill from Lake Bunyonyi at Kyahugye Island. Lake Bunyonyi is the second deepest in Africa with 900m deep with fresh water and bilhazia free. So you can freely swim from the lake after the gorilla trek.
