Day 2Kigali - Volcanoes National Park Kigali - Volcanoes National Park Breakfast at the hotel. You'll check out by 09:00 am. You will then visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial Museum, which serves as a poignant reminder of the 1994 genocide, offering exhibits that educate visitors about the atrocities and promote healing and reconciliation. This will be followed by a drive around the city to understand the history. Lunch will be at the Khana Khazana restaurant. Once this is done, you'll set off for Volcanoes National Park and Musanze. You will be transferred to the trailhead by 08:00 am, where you will start your hike with other travelers and your wardens. You'll hike to the summit of Mt. Bisoke, a stunning volcano in the Virunga range, renowned for its breathtaking crater lake and diverse wildlife, offering hikers a rewarding adventure amidst lush rainforest. One can hire a porter to assist in the climb or in carrying your small backpack. After this memorable activity, you'll descend from the mountains and proceed to the hotel for lunch. Day 5Lake Kivu Lake Kivu Early breakfast and check out. You'll drive an hour to Lake Kivu and Rubavu. En route, you'll stop by for a self-guided tour of the Ellen DeGeneres campus. You'll arrive and check in at the Lake Kivu Serena Hotel. Lunch. You'll enjoy the afternoon driving around the city and along the lake, where, if lucky, you will catch a glimpse of the fishermen at work. You'll return to the hotel later in the late afternoon.
