Day 1Arusha to Tarangire National Park – Wildlife Encounters Arusha to Tarangire National Park – Wildlife Encounters After breakfast, your safari begins with a drive to Tarangire National Park, known for its vast savannahs, iconic baobab trees, and large elephant herds. The Tarangire River, a year-round water source, attracts wildlife throughout the day, offering excellent game viewing. You'll spot giraffes, wildebeest, zebras, buffalo, bushbuck, and hartebeest, often followed by predators like lions and leopards. From the open roof of your safari vehicle, enjoy panoramic views of the landscape and the animals in their natural habitat. A picnic lunch will be served inside the park, including coffee and soft drinks. After a full day of exploration, you'll head to Ikumbi Safari Lodge. Upon arrival, check in, relax, and enjoy a delicious dinner before settling in for the night surrounded by the peaceful beauty of the African highlands. Day 2Tarangire National Park - Serengeti National Park Tarangire National Park - Serengeti National Park After breakfast, your journey continues up the Ngorongoro highlands, where you’ll stop at the crater rim for breathtaking views of the Ngorongoro Crater below and the endless plains of Serengeti stretching beyond. The word “Serengeti” means “endless plain” in Maasai, and it lives up to its name—home to over 2 million wildebeest and countless other species. From January to April, the plains come alive with newborns, as wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles give birth, attracting predators like lions, cheetahs, and hyenas. The area also supports a wide range of smaller animals, including bat-eared foxes, mongooses, jackals, monkeys, and rock hyraxes, along with over 500 bird species. After an exciting day of wildlife viewing, return to your tented camp for dinner and a restful overnight stay under the stars of the Serengeti. Day 3Full Serengeti National Park Full Serengeti National Park Rise early for a sunrise game drive across the Serengeti plains a magical time when the light is golden, the air is crisp, and wildlife is at its most active. Watch predators return from a night of hunting and herbivores beginning their morning graze. Return to camp for a hearty breakfast before heading back out for a full-day game drive in the Serengeti. Traverse the vast savannahs, woodlands, and river valleys in search of lions, elephants, giraffes, cheetahs, and vast herds of wildebeest and zebras. With luck, you may witness a hunt or a dramatic wildlife interaction. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the heart of the park, surrounded by stunning landscapes and the calls of the wild. The adventure continues into the afternoon as you explore different habitats and encounter more of the park’s incredible biodiversity. In the evening, return to camp for dinner and a chance to unwind under the stars, reflecting on a day packed with unforgettable moments. Enjoy an en-route game drive across the Serengeti’s endless plains perfect for spotting early risers like cheetahs, hyenas, and grazing herds. Around midday, arrive at the stunning Ngorongoro Crater. Descend into this UNESCO-listed caldera for your final game drive, home to over 25,000 animals including the Big Five, hippos, zebras, and more than 500 bird species. Enjoy a scenic picnic lunch on the crater floor, surrounded by incredible views and rich wildlife. In the afternoon, ascend to the rim and begin your drive back to Arusha, arriving in the late afternoon.
