Safari Style Guide
Walking Safari
Walking safaris put you at ground level in the African bush with an armed guide and tracker, offering an immersive sensory experience that vehicles cannot replicate. You track animals on foot, read spoor, identify birds by call, and experience the bush at its most intimate. South Luangwa (Zambia), Mana Pools (Zimbabwe), and Kruger (South Africa) pioneered this format. Fitness level should be moderate — you walk 2–4 hours per session over uneven terrain.
