Day 2The Nestled Dream The Nestled Dream After breakfast, we will visit Analamazaotra National Park for approximately 2 hours to see the indri, the largest lemur in the world. Then, we will depart for Manambato with a free lunch. Upon arrival at Manambato, we will transfer by boat to the Pangalanes Channel and check in at our hotel. In the evening, we will go on a nocturnal visit to meet the aye-aye or Daubentonia Madagscariensis, the famous lemur. We will stay at the Palmarium Hotel on a bed-and-breakfast basis. The Pangalanes Channel is the longest and least known channel in the world, measuring 645km (400mi), compared to the Suez Canal's 165km (102mi) and the Panama Canal's 80km (50mi). Day 3Immersion with the Locals Immersion with the Locals In the morning, you will have a 2-hour visit to the Ankanin'ny Nofy Reserve, also known as the Dream Nest. The reserve is located on a 50-hectare site near Ampitabe Lake and the Indian Ocean, at the level of the Pangalanes Pass. You will have the opportunity to see several species of lemurs roaming freely in the reserve, including families of indri, coronatus, Daubentonia Madagascriensis, and Propithecus. The reserve also boasts an exquisite flora of orchids, carnivorous plants, ebony, mahogany, and traveler's trees. You will also encounter beautiful palms, typical to Madagascar, such as Dypsis, Ravenea, Orania, Voaniala, and Lemurophoenix. Approximately 2 to 3 hours of walk awaits you. In the afternoon, you will visit Andranokoditra's village, which will allow you to immerse yourself in the daily life of the villagers on the banks of the canal and experience the legendary Malagasy way of life of the Betsimisaraka ethnic group. Day 4East Coast East Coast After enjoying breakfast, we will take a boat transfer to Toamasina, the main commercial port and the second-largest town on the island. It serves as the capital of the Eastern Province and is the center of the Betsimisaraka ethnic group. Upon arrival, lunch will be provided, and we will drive to Mahambo. We will check-in and stay overnight at La Pirogue Hotel. Our accommodation includes breakfast.
