Day 1Kigali - Volcanoes NP & Gorilla Museum Tour Kigali - Volcanoes NP & Gorilla Museum Tour Your driver guide meets after breakfast at your hotel in Kigali, You’ll begin your journey with a moving visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial, paying respects to the victims of the 1994 Rwandan Genocide against the Tutsi people — a powerful insight into Rwanda’s history and resilience. Afterward, depart the vibrant city and drive northwest through scenic rolling hills, lush farmland, and bustling market towns. The drive to Volcanoes National Park takes approximately 2.5 hours. Upon arrival, check in to the lodge and enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, visit The Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund, an inspiring conservation and research center dedicated to the legacy of Dian Fossey’s groundbreaking work with mountain gorillas. Time permitting, you may also visit the Gorilla Guardian Village, an interactive cultural experience that showcases traditional Rwandan culture and community conservation efforts. Venture into the dense rainforest of Volcanoes National Park to track a lively troop of Golden Monkeys, endemic to the region’s Virunga mountains. Once the group is located, you will spend a magical hour observing their playful antics and fascinating behavior. Following the tracking experience, return to the lodge, freshen up, and then embark on a scenic cross-border journey into Uganda. Your destination is the legendary Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site famed for its incredible biodiversity and home to nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. Arrive at your lodge in Bwindi in the evening and relax after the day’s adventures. Accommodation at Bweza Lodge (or similar). Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Day 3Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park Rise early for a hearty breakfast before transferring to the park headquarters for your Gorilla Trekking briefing. Here, you will receive an orientation on gorilla trekking rules, safety, and environmental etiquette. Accompanied by an experienced ranger guide, embark on a once-in-a-lifetime trek through the misty forest to find one of Bwindi’s habituated gorilla families. The trek can vary in length and difficulty depending on the location of the gorillas, but the reward is priceless — once you encounter the group, you will spend a precious hour observing them up close, at a minimum distance of 10 meters, as they feed, play, groom, and interact in their natural environment. After this unforgettable experience, return to your lodge for relaxation and reflection. Accommodation at Bweza Lodge (or similar). This marks the end of your Rwanda and Uganda Golden Monkey and Gorilla Tracking adventure.
