Venture into the dense rainforest of Volcanoes National Park to track a lively troop of Golden Monkeys, endemic to the region’s Virunga mountains. Once the group is located, you will spend a magical hour observing their playful antics and fascinating behavior. Following the tracking experience, return to the lodge, freshen up, and then embark on a scenic cross-border journey into Uganda. Here, you will receive an orientation on gorilla trekking rules, safety, and environmental etiquette. Accompanied by an experienced ranger guide, embark on a once-in-a-lifetime trek through the misty forest to find one of Bwindi’s habituated gorilla families. The trek can vary in length and difficulty depending on the location of the gorillas, but the reward is priceless — once you encounter the group, you will spend a precious hour observing them up close, at a minimum distance of 10 meters, as they feed, play, groom, and interact in their natural environment.
