From Arusha City to Momella gate to Miriakamba Hut

Day 2From Arusha City to Momella gate to Miriakamba Hut From Arusha City to Momella gate to Miriakamba Hut After breakfast, your guide will pick you up and drive you to the Ngongongare Gate. Upon arrival, your guide will complete all park formalities before continuing through Arusha National Park, with opportunities for wildlife sightings along the way. The drive continues to Momella Gate, where a final check of porters and luggage will be conducted. From here, your 3-day Mount Meru trek begins at a relaxed pace. The first day feels much like a walking safari, and you may encounter wildlife. As trekking takes place within the national park, an armed ranger will accompany the group for safety. Crossing the Ngarenanyuki River and passing a scenic waterfall at the base of Mount Meru. You will arrive at Miriakamba Hut (2,500 m) in the late afternoon or before sunset, where you can rest and enjoy the surroundings. Miriakamba to Saddle Hut

Day 3Miriakamba to Saddle Hut Miriakamba to Saddle Hut After breakfast, you will continue your Mount Meru trek, ascending a steeper trail through the forest zone. Along the way, keep an eye out for a variety of birdlife and occasional wildlife sightings as the vegetation gradually changes with altitude. You will arrive at Saddle Hut, located in the alpine desert zone, where a hot lunch will be served, depending on your pace. After lunch and some rest, you have the option to take an acclimatization hike to Little Meru (3,820 m). This rewarding hike offers stunning views of Mount Meru and the surrounding landscapes, helping your body adjust to the altitude in preparation for the summit attempt. An early dinner will be served back at the hut, allowing you time to rest. You will retire early, usually around 7:00 pm, to prepare for the midnight ascent to the main summit of Mount Meru. The steep climb leads to Rhino Point (3,800 m) and onward to Cobra Point (4,350 m), where the trail follows a narrow rocky ridge along the crater rim. You will reach the summit of Socialist Peak (4,566 m) at sunrise, with stunning views and, on clear days, Mount Kilimanjaro in the distance. After enjoying the summit, descend back to the hut and continue down the mountain. Your driver will be waiting to transfer you back to Arusha. A Mount Meru Summit Certificate will be awarded upon successful completion of the climb. Drive to Arusha for drop-off at your hotel.
