Transfer from Kigali to Akagera National Park
Day 1Transfer from Kigali to Akagera National Park Transfer from Kigali to Akagera National Park After breakfast, you will be picked up by our safari guide, who will transfer you to Akagera National Park in the eastern part of Rwanda. The drive is approximately 2½ hours. On arrival, you will go for a nature walk, after which you will have lunch at Akagera Game Lodge. In the afternoon, you will go for a canoe ride on Lake Ihema to see aquatic animals such as hippos, crocodiles, as well as water birds like the papyrus Gonolek, shoebill stork, and African fish eagle. You will be returned to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at Rutete Eco Lodge. Day 2Morning Game Drive and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park Morning Game Drive and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park After breakfast, you will go for the early morning game drive to see wildlife such as elephants, impala, black-tailed mongoose, hippos, oribi, bushbuck, antelopes, zebras, elands, giraffes, buffalo, and also primates like the olive baboon, vervet monkey, bush baby, etc. Afterward, you'll head to the border for clearance to transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park in Uganda, where you will do your gorilla trekking. Your dinner and overnight stay will be at Rushaga Gorilla Havens Lodge. Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi and Transfer to Musanze in Rwanda
Day 3Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi and Transfer to Musanze in Rwanda Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi and Transfer to Musanze in Rwanda After an early morning breakfast, you'll walk to the park headquarters for a briefing on the dos and don’ts during gorilla tracking. Thereafter, you will proceed to the gorilla trail. Gorilla tracking normally lasts between 2 to 8 hours or even a day to encounter the gorillas. However, you will be allowed to stay in the presence of these awesome apes for at least an hour. You should carry a packed lunch, which will be provided, as one cannot determine how long it may take to encounter the mountain gorillas. Later, you'll transfer back to Musanze. Your dinner and overnight stay will be at the Migano Hotel & Cafe. Golden Monkey Tracking and Transfer to Kigali Airport to Fly Out
Day 4Golden Monkey Tracking and Transfer to Kigali Airport to Fly Out Golden Monkey Tracking and Transfer to Kigali Airport to Fly Out You'll wake up for an early breakfast and transfer to the park head offices in Kinigi by 7:00 am. You'll join up with the other Golden Monkeys trekkers, meet the ranger guide for a few minutes, talk about the activity and the park, and by 8.00 am. You'll transfer to the trailhead just outside the park. You'll enjoy great views of the mountain scenery as you start your trek into the park to find the golden monkeys. The golden monkeys live near the edge of the park in the bamboo forests, where the ground is relatively flat and easy to trek. You'll find the monkeys and follow them as they feed. Notice how they skillfully pick the young bamboo leaves from the tip of the bamboo tree. They may also move out of the park into the potato fields, and they love the potatoes! After an amazing one hour with the golden monkeys, you will return to the trailhead. You'll drive back to the lodge for lunch. Thereafter, you'll be transferred to Kigali Airport to catch your departure flight back home.
