Itinerary

1

Arusha

You'll be picked up at Kilimanjaro airport and driven to your hotel in Arusha. Once you settle in, there's dinner at the lodge and then time to rest before your safari starts.

2

Arusha National Park

After breakfast, you'll drive to Arusha National Park for a morning game drive with picnic lunch included. The park has diverse wildlife ranging from swampy craters to dense jungle areas. Later in the afternoon, you'll do a 2-hour forest hike at Mount Meru's base that takes you to Tululusia waterfall, where you can see Mount Kilimanjaro from up there. Then it's back to the lodge for dinner.

3

Manyara

Starting early with breakfast, you head to Lake Manyara National Park for a nature walk along the edge of the massive soda lake. From there, a game drive lets you spot flamingos, baboons, giraffes, elephants, hippos, buffaloes, zebras, and if you're lucky, tree-climbing lions. By evening you'll check into your new lodge.

4

Serengeti National Park

You'll drive to South Serengeti National Park for a game drive with picnic lunch. This is where you can see the Great Migration in action, watching vast herds of wildebeest and zebras move through in their yearly pattern, with predators following behind. The Serengeti holds the largest concentration of large mammals anywhere.

5

Ngorongoro Conservation Area

This day includes both morning and afternoon game drives in Serengeti National Park. You'll be searching for the Big Five - lion, elephant, leopard, rhino, and buffalo - all of which live here. The wildlife abundance in this park gives you solid chances of spotting Africa's most iconic animals.

6

Lake Eyasi

You'll continue your time in Serengeti National Park with more game drives. Spotting the Big Five remains very possible here, and the wildlife concentration keeps this park at the top for animal viewing opportunities.

7

Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, you'll head out for a full day safari throughout Serengeti National Park, looking for lions, leopards, and other wildlife. This gives you extended time to cover more ground and find different species.

8

Zanzibar

A morning game drive in Central Serengeti gets your day started. Then around 1:00 PM you'll drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area, arriving at your lodge in time for dinner and to sleep.

9

Kilimanjaro

You'll drive into Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive where nearly 30,000 animals live, including the Big Five. In the crater you can see zebras, buffaloes, lions, wildebeest, warthogs, baboons, elephants, flamingos, ostriches, hippos, cheetahs, and rare black rhinos. The crater's natural landscape is recognized as one of Africa's Seven Natural Wonders. You'll head back to your lodge in the late afternoon.

10

This day takes you to Lake Eyasi for a cultural tour where you'll meet the Hadzabe bushmen. They'll show you their traditional way of life and hunting using bow hunting methods. You'll learn about their unique clicking and popping language and can try hunting with handmade bows and arrows yourself. They'll also show you how to start a fire using sticks. The Hadzabe are one of Africa's last hunter-gatherer tribes with around 1,300 members. You'll return to your lodge in the late afternoon.

11

You'll do a full game drive in Tarangire National Park to see how female elephants lead their families through the park. Tarangire has one of Africa's largest elephant populations, with herds sometimes reaching up to 300 members. Other animals you might see include impalas, elands, buffaloes, giraffes, and various kudu species. There's a scenic picnic lunch overlooking the Tarangire river with panoramic wildlife views. After lunch you'll continue driving and return to your lodge at sunset for a campfire dinner.

12

An early morning game drive in Tarangire gets you out when lions and leopards are most active at dawn, and the early light works well for photography. Following an extended morning into afternoon game drive, you'll drive 3 hours back to Arusha for some relaxation and city sightseeing. Dinner is at your hotel.

13

After breakfast, you transfer to Arusha airport and fly to Zanzibar's white sandy beaches. Once you check in at your beach hotel, there's dinner to enjoy.

A walking tour takes you through the various markets in the bustling streets.
