Where to See Gorillas

Mountain gorillas number approximately 1,063 individuals, found only in the Virunga Massif (shared by Rwanda, Uganda, and DRC) and Bwindi Impenetrable Forest (Uganda). Gorilla trekking permits cost $1,500 in Rwanda and $800 in Uganda, with a near-100% sighting rate on guided treks. This is Africa's most exclusive wildlife encounter.
