You'll head to the park headquarters for a detailed briefing on the trekking procedures, safety measures, and the dos and don’ts while with the gorillas. You'll embark on a guided trek into the forest in search of a gorilla family. The trek can last anywhere from 2 to 8 hours, depending on the location of the gorillas. You'll enjoy the experience of observing these gentle giants in their natural habitat for up to one hour. Carry a packed lunch to enjoy during the trek. You'll trek back to the park headquarters. Later, you'll transfer to Lake Bunyonyi. The drive is through a beautiful part of the country, often referred to as ‘the Switzerland of Africa’ because of its cool weather. This lake is said to be one of the most beautiful places in western Uganda. It is the second deepest lake in Africa [900 meters deep] and also one of the few places in the country where it is considered safe to swim, as it is bilharzia-free.
