Day 1Kigali - Akagera Kigali - Akagera 08:00 – Pick-up from your hotel or residence in Kigali. Begin your scenic drive to Akagera National Park with a brief rest stop at Imigongo Restaurant in Kayonza. Upon arrival, receive a short orientation at the park offices. Begin your introductory game drive, with chances to spot elephants, zebras, giraffes, and a wide range of bird species. Lunch at Lake Mihindi Restaurant. Continue with game viewing into the afternoon before heading to the lodge for check-in, dinner, and overnight stay. Day 2Akagera Akagera Start with a relaxed breakfast before heading to Lake Ihema for a 09:00 guided boat ride. Spot water birds like the papyrus gonolek and the elusive shoebill stork. Once done, head back to the jetty. Rejoin your guide for a full-day game drive exploring the southern giraffe area and the lakes road toward Birengero. Enjoy a hot lunch again at Lake Mihindi Restaurant. The afternoon is packed with chances to see buffalo, lions, antelope, and possibly even leopards or white rhinos. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
