Once part of a much larger forest that included the Virunga Volcanoes in neighbouring Rwanda, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is now an ecological island within a sea of human cultivation and is of immense conservation importance. You'll proceed to the park headquarters for a nature walk from Nkuringo to Buhoma. You'll enjoy a 15km walk to Buhoma following the Kashasha River and Ivy River trails. This is a full-day walk where there would be an opportunity to visit the Munyaga River falls in the forest. In the afternoon, you'll go for the 2 pm boat ride on the Nile to the base of Murchison Falls, where you get to see the hippos (You have never seen more hippos yawning, grooming in their pods anywhere else than here), Nile Crocodiles, elephants, and a variety of beautiful bird species along the banks. If you are a keen birder, this might be your magnet to catch them. When reaching the falls, you'll jump off the boat and go with a guide to the top of the falls. It is a beautiful hike that takes you to see the falls close up, as an explosive dash of water at close range gushes through a narrow crevice before the Nile continues its journey towards the Mediterranean.
