After the challenging Kilimanjaro hike, this safari package will enhance your taste of Tanzania, from the Kilimanjaro hike to the safari experience. With Akondo Adventures, You'll visit three parks near Arusha City: Tarangire National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, and Lake Manyara National Park to spot Big five and many other wildlife. The safari starts in Moshi and ends in Arusha; however, we are flexible with the ending point based on your final destination.
Day by Day
Itinerary
Tarangire National Park
Your safari guide picks you up at your hotel in Moshi and you'll head out in a 4x4 Land Cruiser for about two hours to reach Tarangire National Park. The day involves game driving through the park where you can see large elephant herds, seasonal swamps, and the Tarangire River winding through the landscape. Lions might be hunting and you could spot leopards hanging out in trees. By evening you're back at the lodge for dinner and the night.
Ngorongoro Conservation Area
After breakfast you drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Once there you descend into the crater for a full game drive where you hunt for the Big Five: lions, buffalo, elephants, leopards, and black rhinos. Flamingos hang around the crater lakes and there are lots of bird species to spot too. The crater's setup means you can see a wide variety of animals in a relatively short time. Dinner and overnight happens back at your lodge.
Lake Manyara
On your last safari day you head to Lake Manyara National Park, which sits at the base of the Great Rift Valley. A game drive takes you through lush forests and open savanna where tree-climbing lions roam, plus elephants, giraffes, and lots of birds around the alkaline lake. After the morning drive wraps up you make your way back to Arusha where your safari ends.
