Day by Day
Itinerary
Arusha
You'll arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport where a driver meets you for the transfer to your hotel in Arusha. The drive takes about an hour, giving you time to settle in and rest before everything kicks off tomorrow.
Tarangire National Park
Breakfast comes at 7:30am, then you're heading out for a 2-hour drive to Tarangire National Park. The game drive puts you out looking for elephants, lions, leopards, and zebras moving through the baobab trees. After that, it's another 2-hour drive to Karatu where you'll spend the night.
Ngorongoro Conservation Area
An early breakfast gets you going before driving to Ngorongoro Crater, a volcanic caldera about 20km across and 600m deep. You'll spend the morning and early afternoon looking for the Big Five and checking out the crater's 500-plus bird species. Around 2pm you head toward the Serengeti, pulling into your tented camp by 6pm.
Serengeti National Park
The whole day is dedicated to exploring the Serengeti with morning and afternoon game drives. You'll see antelopes, predators, and other wildlife, then swing by the Serengeti Visitor Center to learn about the park's ecosystem. Back at the lodge, you'll have dinner and spend time around the campfire.
Lake Manyara
After an early breakfast, a 6:30am game drive gets underway where you'll spend 6 to 7 hours looking for migrating zebras, wildebeest, and antelopes, plus leopards, cheetahs, and lions. Around 2pm you head back to Karatu for dinner and overnight rest.
Zanzibar
Following breakfast, you drive to Lake Manyara National Park for a game drive where over 400 bird species live and tree-climbing lions roam. In the afternoon, you transfer to Arusha airstrip and catch your included flight to Zanzibar. After arriving, it's dinner and overnight at your beach hotel.
This day is yours to relax on Zanzibar's beaches. If you want more to do, there are optional activities like a spice tour, Stone Town exploration, Prison Island, or dolphin spotting available for extra cost. The island's Stone Town offers historic Swahili and Islamic architecture worth wandering through.
More beach time on Zanzibar with the same optional activities available if you haven't done them yet. The spice tour, Stone Town, Prison Island, and dolphin tour are all on offer for an extra fee if you're interested in exploring beyond the shoreline.
