Rice fields and typical villages of the highlands represent the landscape right after Antananarivo. You'll be passing in Ambatolampy where the work of aluminum is to make cooking pots for the whole country. You will have time to do the visit on your return. You'll continue towards Antsirabe where you will have lunch. From Antsirabe, you will take National Road 34 to reach Miandrivazo, said to be the hottest place in Madagascar. The town is a typical lowland Malagasy community. Day 3Miandrivazo-Moronava-Kirindy Forest Miandrivazo-Moronava-Kirindy Forest You'll drive from Miandrivazo to Morondava westward to reach the Sakalava people and their famous baobab tree. You will meet fewer villages. Upon arrival in Morondava, the road to Kirindy which is located on the RN8A national road, connects Morondava to Belo-sur-Tsiribihina between the localities of Beroboka South to the North and Marofandilia to the South. Kirindy Forest is renowned for being the only place in the world where FOSA (Cryptoprocta ferox), the largest carnivore in Madagascar, can be observed in its natural habitat. You'll have a nocturnal visit to the reserve. You'll first get to Tsimafana where you'll cross the Belo sur Tsiribihina river by ferry. At the end of the afternoon, you will arrive at Bekopaka. The Tsingy limestone peaks are one of the most impressive landscapes in Madagascar, an intricate network of rifts, crevasses, and limestone blocks carved into sharp needles. You'll spend the afternoon free at leisure to explore on your own. You may wish to join an optional trip to visit the little Tsingy, which includes a pirogue ride up the river gorge to see the subterranean caves and other tombs of Sakalava.
