The trail takes you over the high Buahit Pass (4,200m), offering breathtaking vistas of the rugged Simien escarpments. From there, descend gradually through deep valleys and highland plateaus until reaching Ambiko Village (3,300m), located at the base of Ras Dejen. Keep your eyes open for wildlife encounters, including the endemic Walia Ibex and, with luck, the elusive Ethiopian Wolf. Overnight camping at Ambiko. As you ascend, experience the crisp mountain air and dramatic Afro-Alpine landscapes. Reach the summit in time to witness a spectacular sunrise illuminating the jagged peaks and deep valleys of the Simien Mountains. After taking in the panoramic views and celebrating your achievement, descend carefully back to Ambiko Camp for rest and an evening under the stars. Overnight camping at Ambiko.
