Arusha to the Ngongongare gate, then Trek to Miriakamba Huts

Distance: 10 km. Hiking Time: 4-6 hours. Habitat: Rain Forest. You will be picked up from your accommodation and transfer to the main gate of Arusha national park, Ngongongare. After complete paper-work, you will start your hike with a walking safari escorted by a park ranger on the way to Momela gate where your treks begin on the way to the first hut through Momela gate. Trek to Saddle Huts

Day 3Trek to Saddle Huts Trek to Saddle Huts Miriakamba Huts to Saddle Huts. Elevation: 8,250 ft to 11,712 ft. Distance: 8 km. Hiking Time: 3-5 hours. Habitat: Heath. Soon after your breakfast, the steepness of the landscape continues as you get higher, the vegetation pattern and weather also change dramatically. And at this point, you will be able to see the pick of Kilimanjaro on the eastern side. The trail will take you to saddle hut near the summit, where you stay for an overnight. Day 4Summit attempt, Later descend back to the Hut Summit attempt, Later descend back to the Hut Saddle Huts to Summit. Elevation: 11,712 ft to 14,977 ft. Distance: 5 km. Hiking Time: 4-6 hours. Habitat: Alpine Desert. Summit to Miriakamba Huts. Elevation: 14,977 ft to 8,250 ft. Distance: 13 km. Hiking Time: 4-6 hours. Habitat: Heath. Today will be dedicated to the summiting attempt at the peak of Mount Meru. the trail will pass through the steep ridge uphill where you will be required to trek slowly until the peak is reached. Reach the top, enjoy the sunrise, take more photos, and celebrate. Later descend gain to mariakamba hut for overnight. Day 5Descend to the main gate and drive back to Arusha/Mosh Descend to the main gate and drive back to Arusha/Mosh Miriakamba Huts to Momella Gate Elevation: 11,712 ft to 4,921 ft Distance: 10 km Hiking Time: 2-4 hours Habitat: Rain Fores This will be the final day in Mount Merur, take a short and fast descent way through open grassland and mixed forest, with a possibility of seeing wildlife before reaching Momella Gate in the late morning. A certificate will be rewarded to those who attempt the summit. Our drivers will be waiting at the gate to pick you back to your hotel in Arusha or Moshi.
