You will encounter elephants, giraffes, zebras, hyenas, jackals, and various antelopes. Often called the Eighth Wonder of the World, this remarkable site is the largest intact volcanic caldera on Earth, formed over two million years ago when a massive volcano collapsed inward, creating a vast basin 19 kilometers wide and surrounded by towering walls rising 600 meters high. Within the crater lies an extraordinary range of habitats, from acacia woodlands and lush swamps inhabited by hippos to open grasslands teeming with wildlife.
