Day 1Transfer from Kigali, Golden Monkey Trekking and Drive to Bwindi Transfer from Kigali, Golden Monkey Trekking and Drive to Bwindi We will pick you up from your hotel in Kigali at 5:00am and transfer you to the park head offices to join the other golden monkeys trekkers. You will meet the ranger for a brief talk about the activity and the park. By 8:00am, you will transfer to the trailhead just outside the park. During the trek, you will enjoy great views of the mountain scenery as you search for the monkeys. The golden monkeys live near the park's edge in the bamboo forests, where the ground is relatively flat and easy to trek. Once you find the monkeys, you will follow them as they feed and observe how skillfully they pick the young bamboo leaves from the tip of the bamboo tree. They may also move out of the park into the potato fields and exhibit their love for potatoes. After spending an hour with them, you will return to the trailhead, drive back to the lodge for lunch, and proceed to the border for clearance before heading to Bwindi. Dinner and overnight stay will be at Gift Of Nature Lodge.
